A press release from GoRaleigh:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">GoRaleigh, the City of Raleigh\u2019s transit system, is increasing bus service frequencies on 25 routes starting on\u00a0Sunday, Aug. 6. Currently,\u00a0Sunday\u00a0connector routes and other routes do not run as frequently as\u00a0Saturday\u00a0services. Beginning\u00a0Aug. 6,\u00a0Sunday\u00a0services will match\u00a0Saturday\u00a0services.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_321\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-321\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-321\" src=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/inboundraleigh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/GoRDowntown-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/inboundraleigh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/GoRDowntown-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/inboundraleigh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/GoRDowntown.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-321\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo from raleighnc.gov<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;Fiscal Year 2018 is an exciting year as it marks GoRaleigh&#8217;s first improvements associated with the new funding dedicated for improved transit services and infrastructure,\u201d said David Eatman, City of Raleigh transit administrator. &#8220;GoRaleigh&#8217;s first year of improvements will include new buses, improved and expanded passenger shelters and weekend and mid-day service improvements. All of these improvements ranked high on our riders list of top priorities during our rider survey in early 2016.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">These changes are being funded by the one-half cent sales tax approved last November by voters in Wake County as part of the Wake Transit Plan. Taxpayers started paying the half-cent sales tax increase in April. Now,\u00a0four months later, service changes are already being implemented. The Wake Transit Plan includes four \u201cBig Moves.\u201d They encompass the goals of the plan to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s1\">Connect the region;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s1\">Connect all Wake County communities;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s1\">Create frequent, reliable urban mobility; and<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s1\">Enhance access to transit.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">GoRaleigh will not only see changes in\u00a0Sunday\u00a0service for all routes, but increased service on Route 7, South Saunders. Monday through\u00a0Friday, Route 7 will receive additional trips mid-day and operate every 15 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Route 31, New Hope Commons, a\u00a0Sunday-only route, will be removed from service on Sundays. It is replaced with\u00a0Sunday\u00a0service on Route 3 Glascock, 10 Longview and 15L Trawick.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">New route schedules have been published on the \u201cRoutes and Schedules\u201d pages at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.raleighnc.gov\/transit\"><span class=\"s2\">City of Raleigh&#8217;s transit page<\/span><\/a>\u00a0so riders may take a look ahead of the\u00a0Aug. 6\u00a0changes. \u00a0To learn more about the Wake Transit Plan, visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.waketransit.com\/\"><span class=\"s2\">waketransit.com<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">GoRaleigh provides bus service throughout Raleigh.
