{"id":1957,"date":"2014-06-16T09:03:29","date_gmt":"2014-06-16T13:03:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighdla\/\/?p=1957"},"modified":"2018-04-27T15:13:48","modified_gmt":"2018-04-27T19:13:48","slug":"510-glenwood-comin-back-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighdla\/glenwood-south\/510-glenwood-comin-back-2","title":{"rendered":"510 Glenwood: It&#8217;s Comin&#8217; Back"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_1955\" style=\"width: 209px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighdla\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/60029497.DSC_1145m.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[1957]\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1955\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-1955 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighdla\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/60029497.DSC_1145m-199x300.jpg\" alt=\"60029497.DSC_1145m\" width=\"199\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighdla\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/60029497.DSC_1145m-199x300.jpg 199w, https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighdla\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/60029497.DSC_1145m.jpg 426w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 199px) 100vw, 199px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1955\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">510 Glenwood<\/p><\/div>\n<p>My wife and I have owned our condo\u00a0at 510 Glenwood from the beginning, when it was built 13 years ago. \u00a0We were excited then to live in downtown Raleigh\u2019s first mixed use building. \u00a0For years, we used the shorthand &#8211; &#8220;above Bogarts&#8221; &#8211; when telling new friends where we lived. \u00a0Then it became &#8220;where Bogarts\u00a0used to be.&#8221; \u00a0That became the front of a long tale, as it was joined by other Rocky Top Hospitality closings: Draft and Red Room. \u00a0Cantina South and Krave (Bogarts and Red Room replacements) both had short stays.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>But now we&#8217;re getting ready to tell a new story.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Of course everyone knows that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carolinaalehouse.com\/about\">Carolina Ale House<\/a> will be holding down the south end next door. \u00a0With the departure of Oryx, the north corner of the building will feature an Italian restaurant owned by Vincent Barressi, the owner of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vincents.com\">Vincent\u2019s<\/a> on Creedmoor Road. \u00a0As for my wife and me, we\u2019ll now be able to say that we live about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shuckersgrill.com\">Shuckers Oyster Bar and Grill<\/a> that will be moving shortly into the former Cantina South space.
