Check out the latest stats."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><a href=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighdla\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2ndQTRblogpost.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[1985]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1987 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighdla\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2ndQTRblogpost.jpg\" alt=\"2ndQTRblogpost\" width=\"640\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighdla\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2ndQTRblogpost.jpg 640w, https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighdla\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2ndQTRblogpost-300x112.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Business is good and it\u2019s getting even better.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>You may be one of the thousands of visitors to Raleigh who drop in for downtown events or an occasional trip to the Farmers Market.\u00a0 Each time you come, you notice new businesses, restaurants and shops.\u00a0 Residents have been streaming to downtown, counting on just this shift as more and more people invest in downtown Raleigh\u2019s vital, urban lifestyle.\u00a0 The DRA has gathered these statistics that verify just what we\u2019re seeing in each of our downtown districts.<br \/>\n<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>Where we are today<\/i><i>: 166 restaurants, cafes, and bars within the BID*.\u00a0<\/i><br \/>\n<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s been a net gain of over 150 new street-level businesses added within the BID* in the last 5 years.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2014 expected to reach highest ever net street-level additions<\/li>\n<li>Office occupancy at a new high of 92.6%, best in the city<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>More and more residents\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>Where we are today<\/i><i>: 15,000 residents live within a one mile radius of downtown.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p>3,000 more residents will soon be living within the BID*, based on units under construction or planned.\u00a0 This represents a 20% increase.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8 residential projects under construction, adding another 1,109 units or approximately 2,000 more residents<\/li>\n<li>Another 1,000 residents will be added, counting the planned projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Nearly $700 million being invested<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$375 million under construction, 2.2 million square feet<\/li>\n<li>$314 million planned, 1.6 million square feet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Want to know more?
