As the DLA begins our second year, we are very happy to have so many of you joining us.\u00a0 We can measure our growth in terms of the increase in \u201cfans\u201d on Facebook<\/a>, Twitter<\/a> \u201cfollowers\u201d and blog visitors. Though we\u2019ve only just started on our mission, it\u2019s already evolved and grown in accordance with the interests and talents you all bring.<\/p>\n

We are always looking for ways to continue to build our relationship with the City Council and Planning Department, and currently have DLA members serving on the Advisory Group for the Unified Development Ordinance<\/a>, and expect to have a member also join the Mayor\u2019s new Train Task Force.<\/p>\n

We are also building our partnership with the Downtown Raleigh Alliance<\/a>, and have held joint meetings to assist in planning and promoting this year\u2019s Raleigh Home Tour and Artsplosure<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But our most important relationship is with you, as fellow Downtown residents.\u00a0 Our membership has expanded throughout the Downtown area, and we are looking to begin new committees that will allow you to become involved in areas of interest that are important to our city\u2019s revitalization and Downtown living.\u00a0 And of course we all love our social mixers, as a means to providing a fun way to meet and get together.<\/p>\n

We send out a monthly newsletter that describes our events, activities and opportunities for you to get involved with us.\u00a0 The easiest way for you to get on the distribution list is to Become a Member<\/a>, but you can also Contact Us<\/a>, and we will be happy to add you to our list.<\/p>\n

Each month, usually the 4th Tuesday, our General Meetings are held so that we can talk and learn from each other on ways we can continue to support and advocate for Downtown Living.\u00a0 The agenda for our next meeting is listed below.\u00a0 We look forward to seeing you there, and at our next mixer<\/a>\u00a0at Tir na Nog<\/a>!<\/p>\n
