The new building will house Chavis Park\u2019s Historic Allan Herschell Carousel.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10280\"  class=\"wp-caption module image aligncenter\" style=\"max-width: 515px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10280\" title=\"Chavis Carousel rendering\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raleighpublicrecord.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/CarouselBuilding.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"515\" height=\"255\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/CarouselBuilding.jpg 515w, https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/CarouselBuilding-336x166.jpg 336w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 515px) 100vw, 515px\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">A rendering of the Chavis Carousel building.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The new carousel house will be situated so that as riders will be able to see the the buildings in downtown Raleigh.<\/p>\n<p>Parks and Recreation Park Planner Cassie Schumacher-Georgopoulos said, &#8221; . . while the house will be new, the horses are the same historic horses only with refurbished manes and tails.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Construction of the new carousel house is expected to begin in March at a cost of $1.8 million.
