We have people and couples, who have lived together for many years that could be affected. That\u2019s not about a man and a woman marriage but two people who have lived together, been together for years, especially our older generations, who it could affect.\u201d\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>What do you think is the central issue for this election?<\/strong><br \/>\nHealthcare is going to be a big one, especially with the Supreme Court not presenting their ruling until June. Jobs, definitely, is going to be another. <\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the specific issues facing your district?<\/strong><br \/>\nFor North Carolina the issue is education. Jobs, healthcare, education. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Why should your constituents elect you?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe way I look at it, I am the representative to be their voice, to be able go to Washington and actually tell their story, be able to fight for them when they\u2019re in committee, to make sure the laws that are being passed are beneficial not only to North Carolinians but to the country as a whole. <\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the biggest accomplishments and failures of U.S. House over the last two years?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe biggest accomplishments &#8230; oh, goodness. I\u2019m struggling right now with accomplishments. My biggest concern is \u2014 I wouldn\u2019t put it as \u2018failures\u2019 but they didn\u2019t do a great job with \u2014 is not getting jobs like they said they would in 2010. <\/p>\n<p>The battle over healthcare. We\u2019re getting cuts to many healthcare programs, but we\u2019re still not putting anything out there to help people. If we\u2019re going to cut the programs, what do we have to offer? If we don\u2019t have anything to offer to help out, then all we\u2019re doing is making cuts and increasing the probability of more people dealing without healthcare. <\/p>\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s your guilty pleasure?<\/strong><br \/>\nFor me &#8230; I would probably say maybe watching football. I\u2019m just a big football fan.
