Public Storage on Capital Boulevard<\/p><\/div>\n

It’s been nearly two weeks since we last looked at Raleigh’s recently issued commercial renovation and new building permits, but fear not: we haven’t missed much.<\/p>\n

Don’t believe it? The biggest project in terms of raw dollars was … drumroll please … an expansion of the Public Storage facility at 1400 Capital Boulevard. The new five story, 119,200 square-foot structure will be built by McCrory Construction for $6.675 million.<\/p>\n

The next-biggest job was only slightly more exciting: a huge exterior renovation to the Outback Steakhouse at 7500 Creedmoor Road. In addition to improving the existing building’s exterior, this $4.5 million project, which will be handled by Qualified Builders, will also add a new enclosed patio. I guess that means once this job is completed, you can tell the hostess at Outback that you want to sit out back. Sorry.<\/p>\n

Permits were also issued for the new CVS and Panera Bread at Lake Boone Trail, projects we’ve reported on a number of times already, including just last month<\/a> when the Panera received its final site work permits. The Panera job, listed at $1.25 million, will be completed by Project Builders, while the $1.2 million CVS will be completed by Wimco Corp. We have heard some rumors about a number of other projects coming to this immediate area, including extensive changes to the Food Lion-anchored shopping center down the road, but have not yet been able to confirm them.<\/p>\n

Diced Salads<\/p><\/div>\n

Speaking of food, weirdos who enjoy paying a premium for salads should be happy to know that Diced Gourmet Salads& Wraps will soon be adding a new area location at 1028 Oberlin Road. Not surprisingly, restaurant appears to have debuted its first location in Cary. Of course. This $121,500 worth of work required to bring this healthy dining option to the Cameron Village area will be handled by Donald E Couture, a company\u00a0based out of…Cary.<\/p>\n

Out at North Hills, Allscripts, which\u00a0has the unfortunate address of 305 Church at North Hills, received a total of 10 permits totaling nearly $4.7 million for a nine-story interior renovation project. Particularly astute readers may remember reading about this job<\/a> way back in August& September of last year, when we reported on permits being issued for the new Midtown Plaza building at North Hills. Allscripts will be by far the largest tenant at Midtown; about 305,000 square feet out of a total 330,000 available will be dedicated to this health care solutions company. The interior fit-out permits from last week were all issued to McDonald-York Construction.<\/p>\n

A few other jobs to receive permits last week included renovations at the Mercy Vineyard Church, which will be handled by Frank Joseph O’Kobrick, a $1 renovation at the Lynwood Brewing concern that will be completed by Frank Dwyer, a $30,000 renovation to the Pizza Hut regional office on Waters Edge Drive that will be done by Riley-Lewis Construction and a $200,000 renovation for the offices of Stop Hunger Now that will be completed by Brookwood Construction.<\/p>\n

Look, we told you it was a pretty slow two weeks, and we don’t imagine things will get much better with the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, but hopefully we’ll be proven wrong.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
