{"id":20081,"date":"2013-07-26T11:57:50","date_gmt":"2013-07-26T15:57:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/raleighpublicrecord.org\/?p=20081"},"modified":"2013-07-26T12:01:03","modified_gmt":"2013-07-26T16:01:03","slug":"wake-county-manager-resigns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/news\/2013\/07\/26\/wake-county-manager-resigns\/","title":{"rendered":"Wake County Manager Resigns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Longtime Wake County Manager David Cooke has announced his resignation, according to an official statement sent out late Thursday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Cooke will retire at the end of November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have no immediate plans,\u201d said Cooke in a prepared statement. \u201cBut I am excited about pursuing some new adventure next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cooke has been with WakeCounty for 17 years, 13 of those as the county manager.<\/p>\n<p>County officials will join the City of Raleigh as<a href=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/news\/city-council\/2013\/07\/23\/councilors-want-increased-communication-with-city-manager\/\"> it looks for a new person to head up the day-to-day operations<\/a>.
