Polls open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><b>Early Voting Locations<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Wake County Board of Elections<br \/>\n337 S Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27601<\/p>\n<p>Herbert C Young Community Center<br \/>\n101 Wilkinson Ave, Cary, NC 27513<\/p>\n<p>Avery Street Recreation Center Annex<br \/>\n201 Avery Street, Garner, NC 27529\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Raleigh voters shouldn\u2019t expect significant changes in this year\u2019s municipal elections, but all precincts in Wake County will be open to weigh in on the $810 million school bond referendum and Raleigh voters will vote up or down on a transportation bond.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBesides the school and streets bond on the ballot, there\u2019s no major or significant changes for Raleigh,\u201d said Gary Sims, deputy director of the Wake County Board of Elections.<\/p>\n<p>He said it will be difficult to compare the voter turnout to the last municipal election because of the school bond. All of the precincts aren\u2019t usually participating in this type of election\u2014this year, the City of Raleigh, the Town of Cary and Board of Education Districts 1, 2, 7 and 9 will all vote on Oct. 8.<\/p>\n<p>Runoff elections, if necessary, for Wake County Board of Education and Raleigh City Council and mayor will take place Nov. 5.<\/p>\n<p>The October ballot will also include a <a href=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/news\/city-council\/2013\/06\/20\/transportation-bond-goes-to-voters-this-fall\/\">$75 million transportation bond<\/a> to fund road projects throughout the city.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s nothing more than normal for a municipal election,\u201d he said. \u201cWe don\u2019t have a ton of sites open and early voting is downtown, so pretty much everything will be business as usual for voters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Raleigh residents can check out the Wake County Board of Elections website for updated candidate lists and election notices for the Oct. 8 and Nov. 5 elections and guidelines on submitting absentee and write-in ballots.<\/p>\n<p>Early voting begins on Sept. 19 for the October election and is available at Wake County Board of Elections and the Herbert C. Young Community Center until Oct. 5.<\/p>\n<p>The Avery Street Recreation Center Annex will replace the Young Community Center as an early voting site for the Nov. 5 election from Oct. 17 to Nov. 2.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Important Dates Sept. 13: Deadline to register to vote for the October election.
