Commissioners appointed Durham at their regular meeting on Monday. <\/p>\n<p>Durham served as deputy manager since 2001 and previously served as county manager for Edgecombe County. He will serve until a new county manager is formally selected by Commissioners next year.<\/p>\n<p>Cooke announced his retirement in July.
