Pat McCrory and First Lady Ann McCrory light the Christmas tree Dec. 12. <\/p>\n<p>The festivities begin at 5 p.m. with luminaries and holiday music by the Raleigh Concert Band and Garner Magnet High Die Meisters. The ceremony begins at 6:15 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>A local vendor will sell coffee and pastries, and the Junior Woman&#8217;s Club will give away cookies and hot chocolate. Santa is also scheduled to make an appearance.<\/p>\n<p>The Capitol will be open to visitors starting at 6:30 p.m. <\/p>\n<p>Donations are being taken at the State Capitol Rotunda from Dec. 12-15 for North Carolina&#8217;s Rural Shelters.
