{"id":21163,"date":"2014-03-07T13:31:21","date_gmt":"2014-03-07T18:31:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/raleighpublicrecord.org\/?p=21163"},"modified":"2014-03-07T13:31:21","modified_gmt":"2014-03-07T18:31:21","slug":"bragg-n-east-film-holds-early-test-screening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/news\/2014\/03\/07\/bragg-n-east-film-holds-early-test-screening\/","title":{"rendered":"Bragg \u2018N East Film Holds Early Test Screening"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Raleigh Police Officer Robert Wagner\u2019s short film \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/news\/2013\/12\/19\/despite-some-complaints-work-begins-on-southeast-raleigh-film\/\" title=\"Despite Some Complaints, Work Begins on Southeast Raleigh Film\">Bragg \u2018N East<\/a>\u201d debuted at the Living Arts College in North Raleigh Wednesday night to a crowd of more than 200 \u2014 including the chiefs of both the Raleigh Police and Capitol Police departments.<\/p>\n<p>Wagner described the screening as a way of gathering feedback before final edits are made to the film, which will then be shopped around to a number of venues, including the Cannes International Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p>Three years in the making and initially planned as a feature-length film, Bragg \u2018N East was shortened to a running time of just under 30 minutes due to budgetary constraints. \" width=\"771\" height=\"578\" class=\"size-large wp-image-21165\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/redcarpet-771x578.jpg 771w, https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/redcarpet-336x252.jpg 336w, https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/redcarpet-1170x877.jpg 1170w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 771px) 100vw, 771px\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-media-credit\">James Borden \/ Raleigh Public Record<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The faith-based film, directed by local auteur Rob Underhill, tells the story of how a traumatic event brings together a veteran police officer and a hardened gang member seeking to improve the lives of those around them.<\/p>\n<p>Kirstie Marx, whose husband, Richard Marx is a sergeant with the Raleigh Police Department, said she felt the film did an excellent job of capturing the stress that police officers endure in the course of their duty.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI though it was great,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I loved that it was faith-based.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her daughter, Emma Marx, shared her enthusiasm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a well-plotted storyline, very well done,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_21164\"  class=\"wp-caption module image aligncenter\" style=\"max-width: 771px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/castandcrew-771x578.jpg\" alt=\"The &quot;Bragg &#039;N East&quot;
