Assistant City Manager Dan Howe is retiring this month after almost 30 years with the city.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Jim-Greene-140x140.jpg\" alt=\"Jim Greene\" width=\"140\" height=\"140\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-21769\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Jim-Greene-140x140.jpg 140w, https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Jim-Greene-60x60.jpg 60w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 140px) 100vw, 140px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nJames Simpson Greene, Jr. will become Assistant City Manager for Economic Development. Greene was previously the Deputy Manager for the City of Concord, N.C. This position will be responsible for the Planning and Development Department, Raleigh Convention Center and Office of Economic Development. Adams-David is the former Hamlet, N.C. city manager. This position will oversee police, fire, emergency communications, the parks department, the newly formed Housing and Neighborhoods Department and the Office of Emergency Management. Hayward was previously the assistant city manager for Tacoma, Wash. The assistant city manager for services will be responsible for public utilities, public works, solid waste services, the Office of Internal Audit and the Office of Sustainability.
