{"id":21985,"date":"2014-09-24T06:40:27","date_gmt":"2014-09-24T10:40:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/raleighpublicrecord.org\/?p=21985"},"modified":"2014-09-24T06:40:53","modified_gmt":"2014-09-24T10:40:53","slug":"kay-crowder-approved-to-fill-husbands-council-seat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/news\/city-council\/2014\/09\/24\/kay-crowder-approved-to-fill-husbands-council-seat\/","title":{"rendered":"Kay Crowder Approved to Fill Husband&#8217;s Council Seat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>City Councilors last week unanimously approved a resolution that would appoint Kay Crowder to her husband\u2019s seat should his health prevent him from serving out the remainder of his term.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_21918\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 336px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-21918\" src=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/crowder-336x448.jpg\" alt=\"Councilman Thomas Crowder\" width=\"336\" height=\"448\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/crowder-336x448.jpg 336w, https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/crowder.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 336px) 100vw, 336px\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Councilman Thomas Crowder<\/p><\/div>\n<p>After announcing that he had \u201cexhausted all options for a cure\u201d for his testicular cancer at council\u2019s September 2 meeting, Crowder requested that, if necessary, his wife be appointed to his seat representing District D.<\/p>\n<p>Crowder is an architect and a Raleigh native who served on the Planning Commission before joining the City Council in 2003.
