{"id":23180,"date":"2015-06-18T08:57:37","date_gmt":"2015-06-18T12:57:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/raleighpublicrecord.org\/?p=23180"},"modified":"2015-06-18T08:57:37","modified_gmt":"2015-06-18T12:57:37","slug":"tryon-road-realignment-will-continue-through-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/news\/2015\/06\/18\/tryon-road-realignment-will-continue-through-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Tryon Road Realignment Will Continue Through 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The realignment of Tryon Road, a project being undertaken by the North Carolina Department of Transportation, will cost a total of $7.8 million dollars, Southwest CAC attendees learned at a meeting held June 8.<\/p>\n<p>David Moore, an engineer with NCDOT, said the project, U-4432, which began in March of 2015, will likely continue through the end of September, 2017.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_23181\"  class=\"wp-caption module image aligncenter\" style=\"max-width: 600px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23181\" src=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/tryon_road_project.png\" alt=\"The Tryon Road Project\" width=\"600\" height=\"421\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/tryon_road_project.png 600w, https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/tryon_road_project-336x236.png 336w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-media-credit\">Anthony McLeod<\/p><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Tryon Road Project<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The project, nearly a mile in length, widens Tryon Rd (SR 1370) from the Norfolk Southern Railroad, near Par Drive to Wilmington Street.\u00a0 The project runs through the Renaissance Park Neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>Moore explained that the city of Raleigh is expected to fund a portion of the project, although it will not be voted on as a budget item until July. Once the state completes the bridge work for the project, the city of Raleigh is anticipated to take over completion.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_23184\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 326px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23184\" src=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/bridge259.png\" alt=\"The bridge in question\" width=\"326\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The bridge in question<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Lane closures for the project, will, from here on out, Moore said, occur only at night. In the fall, traffic will be switched to the new portion of the bridge.
