    • Basketball league sign-ups have begun for players 5-18 and need\u00a0volunteer coaches especially for 7-8 year olds. Sign up for youth ended\u00a0October 10th yet coaches are still needed and can contact closet\u00a0community center including Marsh Creek.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • \u2018Coats for cause\u2019 initiative annual giving of \u2018gently used coats\u2019 to young\u00a0people sponsored by Top Greene and Sgt. Courtney Johnson Centers.\u00a0Drop off at any community center. Marsh Creek Hours are M-F 7am to\u00a09pm, Sat. 9am to 3 pm and Sunday 1pm to 6pm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        • Special Event: Pumpkin Fest \u2013 Friday October 17, 2014\u00a0Barwell Road Community Center from 6:30 \u2013 8:30 pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                • Hide, Lock, Take program designed to reduce vehicle break-ins and thefts\u00a0by encouraging citizens to lock their doors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  • Citizen left 9 mm gun under seat, now we have a criminal armed could\u00a0increase level of violence and is hurting police efforts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                      \n
                    • Movie night on November 10, 2014 at Marsh Creek Community Center\u00a0outside for several hours near dark. Free and free popcorn. Day before\u00a0Veterans day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      1. Community Services reports on Neighborhood Exchange and initiative on Your\u00a0Big Idea on how to show love of your community. Will start effort to take\u00a0pictures of T-Shirt that says \u201cAsk me about my Big Ideas\u201d. Find assets in the\u00a0community to help with your big idea. Express love for neighborhood,\u00a0community and City of Raleigh.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                        1. New Hope\/Buffalo Small Area Plan Meeting<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                          • Well attended meeting about 50 people<\/li>\n
                          • Expect a Planning report sometime early next year<\/li>\n
                          • Expressed a place to ride a bike and walk.<\/li>\n
                          • Suggestions mentioned at the meeting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                            1. More street furniture<\/li>\n
                            2. Greater traffic control<\/li>\n
                            3. More inviting to the community<\/li>\n
                            4. Keep natural quality environment available<\/li>\n
                            5. Clean Energy for Raleigh (CE4R) \u2013 Presentation: Solar and Energy Efficiency<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                              • Local program to make it cheaper and easier for residents to adopt solarpower \u201cHow do I become more energy efficient\u201d?<\/li>\n
                              • Reduce the cost for solar energy adoption on residential\u00a0properties through group purchasing – 12% on solar energy\u00a0products<\/li>\n
                              • Lot of organizations involved to help consumers with quality\u00a0services through a selection process<\/li>\n
                              • Outreach meeting on Thursday November 6, 7:00-8:00 pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                5. Enrollment ends November 14, 2014 based on current tax credit\u00a0that expires 2015 valid for five years if grandfathered in.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                  1. Visit the Raleigh site for new initiative for Special Events in the city.<\/li>\n
                                  2. Use of CAC funds<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                    • Opened discussion for ideas on how to spend the allotted CAC funds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                                        \n
                                      1. There is $1000 available for fiscal year ending in May 2015<\/li>\n
                                      2. Will continue to discuss at the next meeting<\/li>\n
                                      3. Send out information to inform people of CAC<\/li>\n
                                      4. Involve consultant to help<\/li>\n
                                      5. NC Student design to do a street furniture project<\/li>\n
                                      6. Maybe more funds if connected to the Big Idea a T-Shirt design\u00a0from Neighborhood initiative, creating pride and identity could\u00a0raise funds.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
