Northeast<\/u><\/strong> CAC<\/strong> Meeting<\/strong> Notes<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

April<\/u><\/strong> 10,<\/strong> 2014<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

  1. Department<\/strong> Reports<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. Parks,<\/strong> Recreation<\/strong> and<\/strong> Cultural<\/strong> Resources<\/strong> Report-<\/strong> Center staff reported on upcoming\u00a0Parks and Recreation events. The Raleigh Ollie Community Day event will be held at Marsh\u00a0Creek Center on April 26th from 11:00 am- 2:00 pm. They are currently accepting\u00a0applications for their soccer and baseball leagues for children 11- 12 years old.<\/li>\n
    2. Police<\/strong> Report-<\/strong> Officer Porter gave the crime report for the the last 28 days. He stated there\u00a0have been an increase in the amount of vehicle break ins in the area. He gave the citizens a\u00a0few tips to deter criminals from breaking into their cars. He also encouraged citizens to\u00a0purchase home alarm systems for added protection. He also promoted the upcoming National\u00a0Night Out event.<\/li>\n
    3. Presentation-<\/strong> Z-6-14-<\/strong> Attorney Andy Petesch; in attendance with developers and the Halle Building\u00a0Group discussed the pending rezoning case. The parcel in question is 57 acres and is currently zoned\u00a0R4 and industrial use.However, the developers want to split up the land and put 385 apartment units\u00a0(limited to 3 storeis) on one half and townhomes on the other. The developers want to rezone the\u00a0land for RX3 or RX4. Once construction begins it will take 2 years to complete the project.\n

      Currently, a traffiic study is being done and will be complete in a couple of weeks. The planning and\u00a0rezoning process was explained to residents and a motion was made to postpone voting on the case\u00a0until the traffic study was complete. A vote was carried out with majority residents voting to wait\u00a0until the May meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      III.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Neighborhood<\/strong> Reports<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. Buffaloe<\/strong> Road<\/strong> Small<\/strong> Area<\/strong> Plan-<\/strong> CAC leadership has been working with Planning\u00a0Department\u2019s Ken Bowers regarding the Buffaloe Rd area plan. Leadership will have more\u00a0information in the coming months.<\/li>\n
      2. 5K<\/strong> Run-<\/strong> Michi reminded residents about the upcoming 5K run that will take place in the\u00a0Northeast CAC. She gave dates and the racing route.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          1. Michi reminded residents that the CAC will vote on the Z-6-14 rezoning case during the May\u00a0meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
