{"id":37765,"date":"2015-10-07T06:42:44","date_gmt":"2015-10-07T10:42:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/raleighpublicrecord.org\/?p=37765"},"modified":"2015-10-07T07:23:54","modified_gmt":"2015-10-07T11:23:54","slug":"2015-election-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/2015-election\/2015\/10\/07\/2015-election-results\/","title":{"rendered":"2015 Election Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The unofficial results are in from\u00a0Raleigh&#8217;s 2015\u00a0municipal elections, with the mayor and four incumbents keeping their seats and incumbents in Districts B and C losing theirs.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_35618\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignleft\" style=\"max-width: 113px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-35618\" src=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/mcfarlaneheadshot-336x344.jpg\" alt=\"Nancy McFarlane\" width=\"113\" height=\"116\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/mcfarlaneheadshot-336x344.jpg 336w, https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/mcfarlaneheadshot.jpg 703w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 113px) 100vw, 113px\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nancy McFarlane<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/2015-election\/2015\/09\/24\/nancy-mcfarlane-mayor\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mayor Nancy McFarlane<\/a> handily beat challenger Dr. Bob Weltzin with a total of 26,677 votes cast in her favor, 74 percent of the total.<\/p>\n<p>The two at-large seats were also won by their incumbents, with <a href=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/2015-election\/2015\/09\/24\/mary-ann-baldwin-at-large\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mary-Ann Baldwin<\/a> picking up 33 percent of the total with 18,936 votes and <a href=\"http:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/2015-election\/2015\/09\/24\/russ-stephenson-at-large\/\" target=\"_blank\">Russ Stephenson<\/a> got 30 percent of the votes with 18,430 ballots cast in his favor.
