\nRaleigh\u2019s premier lounge jazz group. They are superb and continue to surprise with different musicians sitting in depending of the show which continues to add changes to the sound and depth to their offering. This week is a new and earlier start time, which allows you more time to eat, drink, dance and be merry! You can expect good things from Peter, Mark and co. Be ready to dance, chillax and have a great time!<\/p>\n

Surf City<\/a> \u2013 Kings Barcade (Indie) – 9:30 p.m.\/$10 Cover
\nHow about some global indie\/new wave rock tonight? If the answer is \u201cmaybe\u201d or \u201cyes\u201d \u2013 Kings is the place for you. This band from New Zealand will rock out the place with their new wave style of indie rock. Expect hard-driving guitars, echo vocals and an all around great night of music. Come on out and catch them while the tour North America!

Peter Lamb & The Wolves<\/a> \u2013 Amra’s (Jazz) – 9:30 p.m.
\nIn case you missed the Wednesday show, the boys are back at it again at Amra’s. What is an added bonus? For those of you who like to indulge in nicotine or enjoy a good cigar, this place is one of two in the downtown area that allows smoking inside.<\/p>\n

Friday 4\/8<\/p>\n

The Native Sway<\/a> \u2013 Pourhouse (Rock\/Funk) – 9 p.m.\/$10 Cover
\nStart the weekend out right with this funk\/rock band out the mountains of Boone, NC. They guys have that swampy, psychedelic funk sound that reminds you a bit of WideSpread Panic. Expect long guitar riffs \u2013 mellow sounds that will encourage, no \u2013 demand dancing from the masses. This is a perfect way to start the weekend!<\/p>\n

Former Champions, Water Wood Down, The Ends \u2013 Deep South The Bar (Funk\/Jam\/Rock) – 10 p.m.\/$5 Cover
\nThis is tough pick. With so much music going on, these three bands could get left in the shuffle. That would be totally unfair as you have three superb groups that will jam out all night all with a slightly different tack on the Funk\/Jam genre. Former Champions will rely more on electronica, Water Wood Down will use more of the guitars to create their funk\/jam and The Ends will just hit you straight up with rock. This trio will be a GREAT night of music, and you most certainly cannot beat the price.<\/p>\n

Johnny Folsom 4<\/a> \u2013 Sadlack’s (Folk Rock) – 7 p.m.\/Free
\nFriday evening at Sadlack’s: the end of a long week, nice weather, a great band on the deck \u2013 What could be better? Come out and enjoy The Johnny Folsom 4 as they tear up the stage with their brand of Southern Folk Rock. The more you dance, the better they play. Come out and catch this great show; it\u2019s the perfect launch pad for your Friday night!<\/p>\n

Midtown Dickens<\/a>, Butterflies<\/a> \u2013 Harris Field, NCSU Campus (Indie\/Folk\/Punk) – 6:30 p.m.\/Free
\nSpring is in the air and with that comes the start of the WKNC music series on Harris Field (off Dan Allen). Come check out two superb local Indie Rock groups as they play a FREE concert. This show is open to the public. Free food and drink are available while supplies last.<\/p>\n

Lubriphonic<\/a> & Big Something<\/a> \u2013 Pourhouse (Funk\/Jam) – 9:30 p.m.\/$12 Cover <\/strong>
\nRaleigh get ready!\u00a0 This is a night of funk like no other.\u00a0 Lubriphonic brings their Chicago based, brass-heavy funk sound to the stage at the Pourhouse for the perfect conclusion to World Beer Fest.\u00a0 These guys have deep Chicago and New Orleans Roots and can be touring alongside (and holding their own) Funk Powerhouse Bands like Galactic, New Mastersounds, Trombone Shorty and more. We are in for a true treat and for those of us not able to make it to New Orleans for French Quarter Fest or Jazz Fest, this is the perfect fix.\u00a0 We prepared for some serious brass blasts, and great dancing music. If this doesn\u2019t get you dancing, I don\u2019t know what will. Local band Big Something<\/em> will be opening the evening with their funk\/psychedelic\/jam sounds. Expect them to get you in the groove for our guests from the Windy City.<\/p>\n
