Ms. McCue is right on target with her crystal clear vocals and excellent musical accompaniment. The sound is simply amazing and that coupled with her remarkable stage presence; it\u2019s a great night of music and entertainment.\u00a0 Come out and check out one of the rising stars out of Nashville.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday 4\/14<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\" http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/oldhabitsband\" target=\"_blank\">Old Habits<\/a> \u2013 The Point (Folk\/Bluegrass) &#8211; 9 p.m.<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Raleigh favorites for folk\/bluegrass, Craig Thompson and co. gear up for a three-night run in Raleigh.\u00a0 Catch them on their first night at the Point. This is one of their favorite places to play so you can expect a great show full of their best songs as well as some new ones.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sojamusic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Soja<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/themovementvibe\" target=\"_blank\">The Movement<\/a> \u2013 Lincoln Theatre (Reggae) &#8211; 8 p.m.<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the place to get your Reggae fix for the week.\u00a0 Three Great Bands: Soja, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mambosauceband.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mambo Sauce<\/a> &amp; The Movement take the stage to give you one great night of Reggae with some Hip-Hop mash up. This is going to be a great night of music and dancing. Come out and see these guys as they make their quarterly rounds of the Triangle area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday 4\/15<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.drivinncryin.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Drivin N\u2019 Cryin<\/a> \u2013 Pourhouse (Southern Rock) &#8211; 9 p.m.\/$18 Cover<\/p>\n<p>Southern Rock Royalty. This band got their start in the Atlanta\/Athens area and have been rocking it out since the 1980s (with a brief hiatus in the mid 2000s).\u00a0 Their style of Alt Rock gave way to their true strength and their roots of Southern Rock and has given them mild success on the National scene.\u00a0 Back together for a couple of years now, they have hit full stride and will bring a great night of rock to the Pourhouse. Skullbuckle and The Poonhounds open the night.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/aroosterforthemasses\" target=\"_blank\">A Rooster for the Masses<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/rivercityransomband\" target=\"_blank\">River City Ransom<\/a> \u2013 Kings Barcade (Indie) &#8211; 10 p.m.\/$8 Cover<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a CD Release party \u201cNo One is Ready.&#8221; This indie rock band has been very successful here locally with their Indie\/Alt vibe and have attracted a sizeable loyal following.\u00a0 You can expect the typical alt\/grunge sound mixed with piercing vocals that will keep you interested and will showcase the musical talents as they build up the set with tension and emotion. Great night of music that will be opened by another local band, River City Ransom.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.last.fm\/music\/The+Veldt\" target=\"_blank\">The Veldt<\/a> \u2013 Southland Ballroom (Rock\/Psychedelic\/Shoegaze) &#8211; 9:30 p.m.\/$10 Cover<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Back together for a few select shows, this former brit-pop group with Chapel Hill roots is ready to light up the night at Southland. Starting out in the 1990s, this band gained immediate cachet in the Chapel Hill scene and that built up an international following that was fiercely loyal and built up to an apex in the late 90s.\u00a0 The guys are back together for a few gigs, and we can expect some of their best stuff (with enthusiasm making up for any \u201crust.\u201d)\u00a0 Expect a great night of music and a reunion of sorts this Friday. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/100yorktown\" target=\"_blank\">100 Yorktown<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/thebreakstheband\" target=\"_blank\">The Breaks<\/a> &amp; More will open the night.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, 4\/16<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cuegrass.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">CueGrass<\/a> Feat. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/americanaquarium\" target=\"_blank\">American Aquarium<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yarnmusic.net\" target=\"_blank\">Yarn<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/bigdaddyloveband\" target=\"_blank\">Big Daddy Love<\/a>, Tres Chicas &amp; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/thethompsonbrothersband\" target=\"_blank\">The Thompson Brothers<\/a> (Corner of Davie &amp; Harrington) &#8211; 11:30 a.m.\/$5 Cover (for charity) <strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This annual event has been known far and wide for delivering on three things: Great Music, Great Beer, &amp; Good Barbeque.\u00a0 This year is no different as there will be no shortage of food, beverage and great music that appeal to a wide variety of listening preferences. From indie, to folk, to roots\/Americana to jam, there is something for everyone.\u00a0 The Marquee on the bill has got to be Tres Chicas \u2013 which is made up of some of the more talented female vocalists in the region. As an added bonus, all gate revenue will be donated to the NC Farmers Association.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/oldbricks\" target=\"_blank\">Old Bricks<\/a> \u2013 Kings (Indie) &#8211; 10 p.m.\/$6 Cover<\/p>\n<p>A CD Release party of sorts for this Raleigh band, Old Bricks has expanded their sound with additional members that brings more depth and power to their meaty, yet dark indie sound.\u00a0 This is a great opportunity to check out some local indie groups on the rise here in the area. Wild Wild Geese and Nests open the evening of music.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, 4\/18<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\" http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/New-King-Rippers\/128840057128574\" target=\"_blank\">The New King Rippers<\/a> (Jazz) \u2013 Sadlacks\u00a0 &#8211; 5:30 p.m.\/Free<\/p>\n<p>What a True Delight and the Highlight of my Week. Personal faves of mine, Raleigh-based New King Rippers play a style of Dixieland Jazz that takes me back to my formative years living in and around New Orleans.\u00a0 Nothing better than a Pimms Cup and some solid jazz to kick up the heels and dance.\u00a0 Check them out if you have any interest in jazz, brass or you just like a good time with good music. These guys will not disappoint. Dave Wright is masterful on the trombone and could very easily swap in or out with greats like Mark Mullins, Craig Klein, or Trombone Shorty.
