Ziggy Marley is here to jam it out at the Lincoln Theatre. Be ready for a packed house and a great night of music as Ziggy & Crew tear it up along with a special guest as opener. This is not to be missed if you are a Reggae lover.

The Love Language w/ Left Outlet – Slims (Indie) – 9 p.m. | $12
This is the start of a four-night stand for Love Language, local faves on the indie rock scene and definitely up and comers on the Merge Label. Get there Early as Slim’s is a very small venue and you will be jockeying for a good spot. Local indie/experimental/glam rockers Left Outlet open the night at 9 p.m.

Wednesday

Interpol w/ School of Seven Bells – Disco Rodeo (Indie) – 8 p.m. | $28-$48
One of the leaders in the Post-Punk movement, New York-based Interpol has been leading the Post-Punk/Indie charge for the better part of 12 years and have yet to let up. They have had a rich tradition of success and hit albums and several successful World Tours. The band is back for more and still touting the release of their latest album. Get ready for a hard driving night of music and personality. Although it’s not quite fair to either band given the immense talent of both bands, School of Seven Bells open the evening. This is another New York-based band – younger – and certainly climbing the ladder – but very, very talented and a very tough act to follow given their immense talent. Be prepared to contemporary (retro) vocals with indie and electronica which will give it a modern Depeche Mode type sound. This is going to be a GREAT night of music and is certainly not to miss! Get there early as this show will be packed out if not sold out.

Peter Lamb & The Wolves – Humble Pie (Jazz) – 8:30 p.m. | $5 (Free with dinner.)
Raleigh’s favorite jazz band is back for their bi-monthly gig at The Pie and is not to disappoint. These guys are the class of the Triangle jazz scene and constantly change their sets so as to bring you something new each show. This will not disappoint as I am sure there is going to be a new guest sitting in, playing some great music and getting the crowd dancing.

The Love Language w/ Whatever Brains – Slims (Indie) – 9 p.m.
Night two of the Slim’s stand. I’m assured that they will be bringing something new each and every night and this promises to be a great show. Again get there early as this is a small venue — or be ready to throw elbows. This is a regular occurrence at this location for First Fridays, and this Friday brings a great local indie band. Come early, check out the band and then walk around downtown and check out the First Friday events!

Big Daddy Love – Pourhouse (Jam/Psychedelic) – 9:30 p.m. | $12
One of our favorite Jam bands from Western North Carolina grace the Pourhouse with their presence on Friday. If you like Sci-Fi, Particle, Phish or Perpetual Groove, you will love these guys. You can expect a full night of driving guitar, keys, funk & electronica. It’s a perfect to kick-start to the weekend and will get you jamming and dancing. Get there early for a good spot as these guys have a sizeable and loyal fan base.

The Love Language w/ Lonnie Walker – Slims (Indie) – 10 p.m. | $12
Expect something special during the last night of their residency – this is the finale – and they are pulling no punches with high-energy opener Lonnie Walker. You can expect this high-energy to continue into the Love Language set. This is a sold-out show. The boys are back together. In one of their first gigs back together, the CQ plays 2-3 sets for the Bee Ball, an annual fundraiser for local charity the BeeHive Collective. It’s similar to Band Together but more progressive and down to Earth. You can expect some great jazz/swing music, perfect for dancing and having fun. Note: The band will play between 8 p.m. and midnight, followed by a DJ. Costume suggested, but not required.

Wintersleep – Kings Barcade (Indie/Folk) – 9 p.m. | $10
Following in the footsteps of former great Canadian Indie Rock bands like The Tragically Hip & Arcade Fire, this Canadian band from Halifax will put a folksy spin on their Indie Sound. The only thing better for these guys would be if they could get Ashley McIsaic to join the band. These guys are superb and are climbing the ladder. Catch them now and you might be able to catch them again (if the rumors are true) at Hopscotch this fall.

Zydecopious – The Big Easy (Zydeco) 10 p.m. | Free
Once again, our Favorite Zydeco band is back for their monthly gig at The Big Easy.
