Redmond will take on current councilor Nancy McFarlane and fellow Republican Dr. Randall Williams.

Between the two races this fall, the Republican Party is only backing two incumbent candidates. John Odom represents District B on the Raleigh City Council and is running unopposed.

Ron Margiotta chairs the Wake school board and has been a leading proponent for the Republican majority on the board. He will face Susan Evans of Apex.

Technically, the elections are nonpartisan, but parties can still endorse candidates and spend money to help campaigns.

Early voting begins Sept. 22 and the election is Oct.11.

See the full list of Republican endorsements below.

Raleigh Candidates
Raleigh Mayor: Billie Redmond
Raleigh City Council At-Large: Paul Fitts
Raleigh City Council District A: Brian Tinga
Raleigh City Council District A: Gale Wilkins
Raleigh City Council District B: John Odom (incumbent)
Raleigh City Council District C: Paul Terrell

Wake County School Board Candidates
School Board District 3: Heather Losurdo
School Board District 4: Venita Peyton
School Board District 5: Cynthia Matson
School Board District 6: Donna Williams
School Board District 8: Ron Margiotta (incumbent)

Wake County Republicans endorsed a slate of candidates this week for Raleigh city Council and school board.

[214,15,23
