{"id":9507,"date":"2011-11-10T10:34:00","date_gmt":"2011-11-10T15:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.raleighpublicrecord.org\/?p=9507"},"modified":"2011-11-10T10:36:33","modified_gmt":"2011-11-10T15:36:33","slug":"for-the-colin-firth-fans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theraleighcommons.org\/raleighpublicrecord\/featured\/2011\/11\/10\/for-the-colin-firth-fans\/","title":{"rendered":"For the Colin Firth Fans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday, Raleigh, N.C. became Terre Haute, Ind. for a day.<\/p>\n<p>Movie crews filmed parts of &#8220;Arthur Newman Golf Pro&#8221; in downtown Raleigh. \u00a0The News &amp; Observer Building became the Terre Haute Police office and a Terre Haute police car was needed to complete the scene.<\/p>\n<p>But for most, the fun of this film was not the transforming of downtown Raleigh but the fact that movie stars, Colin Firth and Emily Blunt, were at the center of all the activity.<\/p>\n<p>Whether filming on Fayetteville Street in front of the First Citizens Bank building or \u00a0around Nash Square, fans followed. Many just wanted to watch the filming process, while others used their cameras or cell phones to shoot some star photos.<\/p>\n<p>And at one point, during filming on the edge of Nash Square, it even looked like the statue of \u00a0Raleigh&#8217;s own Josephus Daniels was blessing the entire film crew as they worked.
