Comments Policy

The Raleigh Public Record is a news organization and as such, strives to provide a forum for open and engaging discussion on its website. Comments from the public about Raleigh and news stories posted on the Record site are welcome and encouraged to foster an intellectual debate about our city, county and state.

We aim to leave comments as posted. Opinions expressed in comments are not necessarily those of the Raleigh Public Record and its staff, and we cannot guarantee the accuracy of any posting.

We reserve the right to remove any comment that contains profanity or hate speech against a specific person or group based on gender, religion, sexual orientation, race, class, ethnicity.

Comments that solicit or promote a particular business or cause will be removed, as well as comments containing an excessive number of spam links.

Aside from the aforementioned reasons, we reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to remove a comment and also to revoke a user’s privilege to post content on our site.

Comments posted on our site are public and we may use them in materials promoting the Record and its mission.
