Transportation Projects in and around Crabtree Valley—Presentation by Eric Lamb, Raleigh’s Office of Transportation Planning
Eric Lamb projected a map of the Northwest area and pointed out a number of projects with relevance to the NW CAC. Among the projects mentioned were the Leesville Road widening, a bridge project at Briar Creek and T.W. Alexander, a bike path at Lumley Rd/Westgate Rd/Ebenezer Church Rd, a greenway connection to Umstead Park, the widening of Glenwood Ave. between Millbrook Rd and I-540, the Pleasant Valley Road improvement between Duraleigh and Glenwood Ave., and Blue Ridge Road improvements. For the transportation project around Crabtree Valley Mall the city will need to work with NC DOT due to the estimated cost of the project. The City of Raleigh is currently awaiting results from NC DOT’s prioritization ranking of projects to be released on May 14.
New Business/Old Business
Aracelys Torrez reported that the deadline for neighborhood improvement funds from the city has passed. New funds will be available in the new fiscal year.
CAC leadership suggested to use funds available to the CAC to purchase yard signs to publicize CAC meetings, and promotional items such as a magnetic emergency phone list with CAC information. After discussion, CAC members moved to allow this use of CAC funds, and the motion passed.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 pm.
