Curtis Edward Dow, 23, was murdered on the 1200 block of Angelus Drive early Friday morning. Anthony Edward Gross-Pruitt was arrested Friday night and is currently in custody. A warrant charged Broderick Sharrod Rowland with murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting injury with intent to kill, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Friday August 14

Overnight, someone broke into a home on the 4400 block of Wolftrap Road and stole a digital camera, a WII fit, and $500 worth of WII games.

Overnight, a woman reported someone broke into her Lexus parked at the 700 block of Daniels Street and stole a GPS and car charger.

Sometime between Tuesday and 8 a.m. Friday, someone stole a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle from the 2800 block of Red Alder Court.

At 1:45 a.m. a woman reported that someone left a fist size hole in a wall of a house on the 7200 block of Summerland Drive and damaged a large black music keyboard and a blue and white vase.

Someone used a firearm to rob the Studio Plus Hotel at 921 Wake Town Dr. around 6:15 a.m.

Around 9 a.m. someone reported a theft of $443 from a shopping center at 500 Oberlin Rd.

A woman, 20, reported that someone stole $1 from an apartment on the 3000 block of Barrymore Street sometime before 9 a.m.

Between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. someone stole a game console, a Playstation 3, a laptop computer, a digital camera, and various video games from an apartment at the 5000 block of Wallingford Dr.

A man, 28, was charged with stealing a bag of Ruffles Potato Chips and a liter of Fanta from a Food Lion at 3926 Western Blvd. at 1:15 p.m.

At 2:45 p.m. a 16-year-old male stole blue jeans, a tray of fruit, and a cucumber from a Wal-Mart at 4431 New Bern Ave.

Sometime before 3 p.m. someone stole an 18-pack of beer from the Exxon at 4301 New Bern Ave.

Sometime between 3 and 5 p.m. someone stole a 42” flat screen TV, an Apple MacBook, a CD player, an engagement ring and a gold ring from a house at 2800 Sterling Drive.

A man, 24, reported that someone stole a black AK-47 rifle, a 12 gauge shotgun, a hunting knife, a gun cleaning kit and three shoe boxes of miscellaneous documents from a home on the 100 block of N. Fisher Street around 5:30 p.m.

A 16-year-old male reported that someone robbed him with a firearm at a parking lot on the 1500 block of University Court at 6:30 p.m. and stole his cell phone and $375.

Sometime before 8:45 p.m. someone broke into an apartment on the 9900 block of Pineville Road and stle a gaming system, laptop computer, PS3 and WII games, and Blue Ray DVDs, valued at almost $5,000.

Around 9:30 p.m. someone strong-armed a 17-year-old girl in a parking lot on the 1100 block of Gorman Street and stole a cell phone, class ring, $2, and a pair of fake diamond earrings.

Someone stole a 24-pack of beer and a Bic display stand of lighters from the Kangaroo at 3721 Tryon Rd. around 7 a.m.

Around 2:45 p.m. a man, 48, was charged with stealing $77 of cleaning supplies and a paper shredder from a Target at 4191 The Circle at North Hills.

Shots were heard by someone near the 600 block of W. Jones Street around 1 a.m.
