At about 9 Tuesday evening a fire started in a crawl space at a home on the 2100 block of Glenwood Avenue. A Raleigh Police Department spokeswoman said, “It did appear that an accelerant was poured into the crawl space and the fire was set.” The residents were at home and the fire did not spread past the crawl space. The RPD representative said the arson investigation is continuing.

Thursday April 9

Police arrested three men, 18, 21 and 27, for trespassing at a city park on Mount Herman Road around 2 a.m. this morning.

A 21-year-old man assaulted a 22-year-old woman at their shared home on Hilltop Drive. Police arrested the man at about 2:30 this morning.

Lucky guy. Just after midnight this morning, someone stole a GPS unit from a car on Wynewood Drive. Police later found the GPS and returned it to the 47-year-old owner.

Wednesday, April 8

Someone mugged a 48-year-old man on the 500 block of Bragg Street just after 10 p.m. The robber made off with one $20 bill.

Police arrested an 18-year-old man for pot possession at an apartment on Compatible Way just after 11 last night.

Don’t leave your laptop in the car, especially on Western Boulevard. Someone stole a laptop and two textbooks from a car in a parking lot on Western.

Someone stole a 12-pack of beer from a New Bern Avenue convenience store.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for drug possession on the 700 block of East Martin Street just before 8 Thursday night.

Police arrested a 23-year-old woman for assaulting her roommate, a 20-year-old man, with a weapon at an apartment on Hunt Club Lane.

Someone stole jewelry from the house of an 87-year-old woman on Patrick Road overnight.

A 42-year-old Wendell resident returned to her Maitland Drive hotel room to find that her wallet, social security card and $200 had been stolen.

Police arrested a 55-year-old man for breaking in the front door to his 76-year-old father’s home on Wake Forest Road just before 6:30 Wednesday evening.

A male, 17, and woman, 19, tried to steal about $300 in clothes from a Walmart on Glenwood Avenue. Police arrested the pair at about 7 p.m.

Police arrested a 20-year-old man for selling weed on Marlborough Drive between 8 and 9 last night.

Overnight someone kicked in the door to an Ashford Street home and stole a digital camera and two Rottweiler puppies.

Police arrested a 19-year-old man for rape just after midnight on Greywood Drive.

Someone made off with $460 from a home on Fayetteville Street.

Police arrested two men, 26 and 38, for stealing a 1991 Toyota Corolla from an apartment parking lot on Gateway Park Drive. Both the would-be car thieves lived at the apartment complex.

Look out for the thief with the pink iPod Nano. Someone broke a car window and stole a GPS unit and the pink iPod Wednesday afternoon on Westchase Boulevard.

Blockbuster’s going to want their movies back. Someone stole an X-Box and three DVDs rented from Blockbuster from a house on Ricochet Drive.

Tuesday, April 7

Not much here. Someone stole a wallet from a car on Kent Road at about 3 p.m. Tuesday. The robber made of with $4 and a wallet worth $20.

Maybe this makes up for it. Over the weekend, someone made off with $3,500 in cash from the Saturn dealership on Capital Boulevard. The dealership reported it to the police Tuesday afternoon.

Someone stole a lawnmower from a home on Willow Court over the weekend.

An 86-year-old man reported being assaulted at his home on Calloway Drive.
