Police pulled over two men driving on Hill Street around 5 a.m. Wednesday. When the first man, Horace King, 28, of 4023 Taylor Dr. got out of the car, an officer told King to put his hands on the car and, according to a police spokeswoman, King punched the police officer.
When King punched the officer, the spokeswoman said the other man, Anthony Dawkins, 35, of 310 Heck St. ran from the car. A second officer chased Dawkins down and grabbed his shirt, but the officer lost his footing and Dawkins dragged the officer by his shirt for about 6 feet.
After getting the suspects in custody, police found pot and crack cocaine in the car and charged both men with drug possession with intent to distribute. Police also charged King with assaulting a government official and Dawkins with resisting arrest and obstruction.
