Someone reported shots fired just after 1:30 this morning near Locke Lane.

Police arrested a 25-year-old Rocky Mount man for driving while impaired at 2:15 a.m. today on the 3300 block of Hammond Road.

Police arrested a Durham man, 32, for drug possession on the 10100 block of Glenwood Avenue at about 2:30 this morning.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for robbing another man, 50, at a convenience store on the 600 block of West South Street just after 10 a.m.

Police caught a 16-year-old with pot at Millbrook High School on Spring Forest Road at 10:30 a.m.

At noon Wednesday police arrested a Willow Springs man, 47, for having pot in his car on the 200 block of South Salisbury Street.

Someone assaulted a 26-year-old man at his apartment on Hodges Creek Drive at 1 p.m.

Wednesday afternoon someone stole a 2001 Land Rover from Barrett Drive. Police later recovered the vehicle.

Between 4 and 5 p.m. a 25-year-old Durham woman tried to shoplift from the T.J. Maxx store on Brier Creek Parkway.

A 72-year-old man tried to steal about $28 worth of merchandise from a Wal-Mart on New Bern Avenue just after 5 p.m.

At about 6 p.m. a 21-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man assaulted each other at their shared apartment on the 3000 block of Walnut Creek Parkway.

Someone assaulted a 50-year-old woman at her home on Crown Crest Court just after 9 p.m.

Just after 10 p.m. someone with a gun robbed the Dunkin Donuts on Falls of Neuse Road. The armed robber made of with $720.

A 24-year-old man assaulted a police officer at around 9:45 p.m. on Old Plank Road.

At 10:30 p.m. a woman, 43, assaulted a 48-year-old man on the 2000 block of Poole Road.

Someone stole $39,000 worth of jewelry from a home on Arbutus Drive during the day Tuesday.

Police arrested a 40-year-old man for trying to shoplift from the CVS on Fayetteville Street at 12:30 p.m.
