A man and a woman were shot this morning shortly after 11 a.m. on the 1900 block of Orchard Hollow Way. Both were transported to the hospital. Police spokesman Jim Sughrue said in an email, “The shooting does not appear to be a random act.”

Thursday, June 11

A little after midnight this morning police arrested a 25-year-old for breaking a cashier’s window at the Handee Hugo’s gas station on Western Boulevard.

Just after 1:30 this morning police arrested two men, 18 and 23, for pot possession.

Someone broke into a doctor’s office on Arco Corporate Drive and stole a bill changer with an unknown amount of money at around 3:15 a.m.

Just before 3:45 this morning someone broke the glass front door to a Citgo Gas Station at 6908 Glenwood Ave.

Wednesday, June 10

Just after midnight police arrested a 26-year-old man for having pot in his car on the 500 block of North Person Street.

Overnight someone broke into a car parked on Trillium Circle and stole a GPS.

Someone broke into a car parked on Palm Court overnight and stole an electric drill, an mp3 player, a phone and a speaker.

Overnight someone stole an XBox and $300 in cash from a home on Reunion Point.

Someone broke into a walk-in cooler at the Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse overnight and stole five cases and three six packs of beer, and one six pack of non-alcoholic beer.

Police arrested a 24-year-old man for using a gun to rob a Schaub Drive apartment at 3:30 a.m.

Wednesday afternoon someone stole $500 in cash out of an apartment on Steinbeck Drive.

During the day someone stole a computer from an apartment on Oates Drive.

Just before 2 p.m. a man, 17, tried to steal one box of Mike & Ike candy from the Food Lion on New Bern Avenue.

Someone reported shots fired near the 200 block of Branch Street at about 2:30 p.m.

Just after 3 p.m. a 19-year-old woman tried to steal two shirts, two pairs of shorts, a dress and a skirt from the Walmart on New Hope Church Road.

Just before 5 p.m. someone with a knife robbed a 24-year-old man on the 200 block of South Wilmington Street.

Police arrested a 21-year-old man for pot possession in a park on Proctor Drive at 6:30 p.m.

Police caught a 48-year-old man carrying a concealed weapon along the 3500 block of New Bern Avenue at about 6:30 p.m.

Someone assaulted a 23-year-old woman at a home on Culpepper Lane just before 7 p.m.

Wednesday evening someone stole a digital camera and some clothes from an apartment on the 4900 block of North New Hope Road.

Police arrested a 24-year-old man for assaulting another man, 49, at a house on the 3000 block of Garner Road.

Someone assaulted a 46-year-old man at his home on Blackwolf Run between 9 and 10 p.m.

Police arrested a 44-year-old man for pot possession at his apartment on Steinbeck Drive.

Late Wednesday night someone stole a flat-screen TV and a Playstation 3 from an apartment on Brockton Drive.

Overnight someone broke into a car on Crescent Moon Court and stole a GPS.

Someone reported an indecent exposure incident on the 300 block of West Hargett Street at 2:45 a.m.

A 38-year-old man tried to steal four packs of gum from the Food Lion on Poole Road a little after 1 p.m.

Police arrested a 45-year-old man for pot possession on the 200 block of Blount Street at 4:30 p.m.

A man reported shots fired near the 4900 block of Old Wake Forest Road just after 5:30 p.m.
