Early Wednesday morning, someone broke a window in an SUV and stole two fancy speakers, an amp and a CD player on Fox Hunt Lane.
Copper pipe is popular, but heavy. Someone stole three 50-foot rolls of copper pipe and one 50-food extension cord from a construction site on Six Forks Road. But how did they carry it away? The would-be robber also broke a handle on a wheelbarrow. The RPD recovered everything.
From the same Six Forks construction site, someone also broke into a trailer and stole a 5-foot-tall oxygen tank, a couple of acetylene tanks and some other equipment from a contractor, all valued at almost $4,000. The police did not recover any of these items. How do you get away with a 5-foot oxygen tank?
Don’t leave your purse in the car. Someone stole a purse containing a couple of Visa cards and $20 from a car on Compton Road sometime before 7 a.m. Wednesday morning. Police recovered the purse, but it was empty.
And again, someone stole another purse from a car on Glascock Street. Look out for a robber with a gold trimmed pink purse, valued at $200.
Police responded to a report of child abuse on Dalcross Road. Someone at Swift Creek Elementary reported it.
Someone stole 5 pairs of shoes and a TV from an apartment on Sandy Forks Road.

A burglar walked off with a 40-inch TV and a $150 hat from an apartment on Shanda Drive early Wednesday morning.
Just after 7 a.m. Wednesday morning, someone with a gun robbed a 34-year-old man on Capital Boulevard. They made off with $40.
