NCSU returning 1870 bell to Raleigh Fire Department
From the N&O: The bell that sat atop Withers Hall since the 1940s will be returned to the fire department in a ceremony tomorrow morning.
The Capitolbeat conference ends
Laura Leslie reports the national conference of statehouse reporters ended without policy wonk journalists rioting in the Raleigh streets. Leslie is the president of the statehouse reporters’ national association and chose this year to introduce hundreds of reporters from around the country to some of Raleigh’s shadier places to get a drink. The N&O’s Pat Stith gave the keynote address, audio here.
