Whether it’s your cat, your kid or that breaking news, shooting video on a smartphone is becoming part of daily life.

The Raleigh Public Record is offering a tutorial on how to shoot that video better.

The one-hour video training from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 22 at One Stop Web Video, 515-A St. Mary’s St. in Raleigh.

Local videographer David Iversen of One Stop Web Video will share with us the basic tenets of shooting a good video no matter what device you’re using. From composition and lighting to audio, he’ll lead us through some simple steps to make sure our online videos convey the story.

While you may not be telling news stories, come along with us to learn how to better shoot and even edit the videos you shoot to share you own stories online.

Cost: $10 — Cash or check at door, please.
RSVP requested: Seating is limited. Please RSVP on Facebook or email us at editor[at]raleighpublicrecord.org with “video training” in the subject line.
