In a meeting of the Southeast Citizens Advisory Council last week, chairman Tim Sit announced that the developer of a Circle K on Poole Road had withdrawn its application for a 24-hour operation.
The developer had sought to have these hours through a rezoning case, Z-10-15. Although the store itself is already under construction, the plan was to serve patients and employees of the nearby WakeMed Hospital, who would be coming and going at all hours of the night.

When the subject came up at a recent planning commission meeting, the developer also noted that keeping the store open 24 hours would help prevent vandalism.
Several neighbors present at that meeting, however, protested the case raised questions about the safety of keeping the Circle K open at all hours, citing cases where nearby businesses had been robbed during the late hours of the night.
