Coming soon to a property near you: rezoning.
Thousands Raleigh property owners will soon receive postcards by mail announcing that their property, or property adjacent to theirs, is proposed to be rezoned as part of the Zoning District Remapping Project.
According to the city, about 30 percent of the City’s land area will be affected; the change is part of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) that took effect last September.
The rezoning will remove old districts no longer part of the new UDO and replace them with the new districts.
A website and phone hotline will be set up to answer questions; both will go live May 19. The website is www.raleighudo.us, and the phone number is 919-996-6363. The last day to submit comments will be Sept. 30.
