Raleigh has two great music festivals this weekend. Come on out and enjoy them!
Hillsborough Street is Home to The Earth Day Music Festival, which will be Saturday afternoon and evening and held in 11 Venues along the street. A wide variety of music will be played all afternoon, evening and night covering just about everything from Rock to Blues to Jazz to Ska to Reggae (and everything in between).
This event is designed to give music enthusiasts a little bit of everything – as well as allowing them to walk up and down the street sampling different types of music as well as the host venue. Some of the more popular shows include:
Countdown Quartet
Hipslack
The Amateurs
Hot Damn Blues Band
The Castaways
Supatight
The ArchBishops of Blount Street
Kenny Shore
Bernie Lamb
Russ Thompson
Th’ Bullfrog Willard McGhee
Johnny Swank
Milagro Saints
The Stray Dogs
The Major Sevens

The North Carolina CueGrass Festival is this Saturday Afternoon and is an annual benefit show for the NC 4H programs. This year their lineup is a great one with Favorite Local Bluegrass and Folk Bands: Old Habits, American Aquarium, Delta Rae and Mandolin Orange. Tickets are $5 at the gate.
Get there early as this festival is known for large crowds. The Pit will have some of their fine BBQ available for purchase as will vendors from many of the fine area microbrews.
