Thankful Tuesday

Republicans gathered Tuesday to give thanks to their state legislators for voting along conservative lines. This “Thankful Tuesday” gathering was a response to the 11 Moral Mondays, during which residents have protested the actions of the legislature.

Moral Monday Week 9

Former NC Commissioner of Labor Harry Payne, holding an unemployment sign, stood with the 6-foot-tall cardboard sign displaying the number 170,000 during Monday’s ninth week of protests at the state legislature building.

Drums in the Sun

Christopher Grubbs, 18, practices drums as the sun sets over Fred Fletcher Park in Raleigh. Grubbs said he can not practice in his apartment and the acoustics are better in the open area of the park.

Inside the New Wake Justice Center

County and court officers have started moving into the new Wake County courthouse. The Register of Deeds and Revenue Department open for business Wednesday in the new $30-million building and more offices will move before the grand opening on July 1.
