Ashton Smith — District D

Ashton Smith currently works at Citrix in downtown Raleigh. She is the board chair for the Friends of the City of Raleigh Museum, serves on the board of the Downtown Housing Improvement Corporation and volunteers her time with a number of other local nonprofits, including the Downtown Raleigh Alliance and the Urban Land Institute. She is currently running as the challenger in District D.

Bonner Gaylord — District E

Bonner Gaylord works for local developer Kane Realty, where he currently serves as the general manager of North Hills. He was first elected to City Council in District E in 2009. He serves on the Comprehensive Planning Committee, and was the Inaugural Chair for the Technology and Communication Committee. He is running as the incumbent in District E.

Edie Jeffreys — District E

Edie Jeffreys is a software professional at SAS in Cary. She has been active in the Five Points Citizens Advisory Council for more than 15 years and currently serves on its Leadership Committee. She is also a founding member of the neighborhood advocacy organization “Community SCALE,” which encourages tree preservation. She is running as a challenger in District E.
