Brown street signs have popped up in some parts of downtown as part of an effort to highlight Raleigh’s six local historic overlay districts: Blount Street, Boylan Heights, Capitol Square, Moore Square, Oakwood, and Prince Hall. The project was listed as part of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan. Signs were purchased last year and installation began in January.
