Record Added to NC Press Association

Dear readers,
Journalism is changing – in some ways for the better, in other ways for the worse. Today I’d like to share with you one small development in that larger change that signals hope that we can hold on to the media institutions we need while adapting to the new realities of readership: The Raleigh Public Record is now a member of the North Carolina Press Association.

Most Get First Pick in Wake School Choice

Wake County schools released new data this week about who participated in the first round of school choice. So far, most people who have participated at the kindergarten level received their first or second choice, but roughly 3,000 families still haven’t participated.

The Wearing of the Green

As part of the the fourth annual 2012 St. Paddy’s Run Green this weekend, 2,400 runners ran through downtown Raleigh. The five mile race gave folks an opportunity to show off their finest green duds.
