Sheetz Possible for New Hope and Buffaloe Roads

Planning Commissioners Tuesday approved a rezoning that would allow a Sheetz gas station and convenience store to be built at the intersection of New Hope and Buffaloe roads. Commissioners also approved a request to subdivide a piece of property on Temple Street.

The city finalizes agreements for long-term leases with Edison Land, LLC for the Blount Street parking deck. Councilors also accepted a donation of three acres of land that will become part of the Walnut Creek Wetland Center, discussed the $21 million TIGER IV grant, and a decision on the Property and Casualty Insurance Broker Contract was delayed.

Developers Line Up for Moore Square Area

Moore Square and the surrounding blocks are getting ready for a development boom with two new residential and mixed-use projects. The square has traditionally been a place for those in need to get services, but those organizations are moving out. The city has bought up substantial property on the east side of the square and has a $14 million rehab in the works for the park.
