May is National Bike Month and you can get in on the fun in Raleigh.
The month is sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated nationwide. According to the League’s website, “Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to giving biking a try.”
In Raleigh, you can get back on that bicycle during one of several events. Check out the city’s poster below (pdf link here) or learn more on the city’s bike blog. (We’ve also added those to our calendar.) Aside from Bike Month events, the bike blog has a ton of other related events on its calendar.
Oaks & Spokes is an organization that promotes bicycling. They are also hosting a ton of events in May as part of their annual festival. Check them out.
