State Employees’ Credit Union Building – Downtown 2007 Perhaps one of the most noticeable changes is the addition of the 12-story State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) building. Construction on the tower began in 2009 but due to issues with one of the subcontractors, completion was delayed. At one time, SECU planned to lease some of the floors to tenants but due to membership growth, the credit union is using the entire building.

Using Google Map’s Streetview technology, Camelia Bulea of RentCafe put together a compilation of 10 before-and-after photos that show the significant changes Raleigh’s skyline has undergone since 2007.

Editor’s note: this is not sponsored content. Ms. Bulea reached out to the Record and offered to let us run this concept she had put together. We gratefully accepted.
