Some residents and campaigners turned out Thursday at the Wake County Board of Elections Office for the first day of Early Voting.
Early voting begins Thursday for the May 6 Primary Election.
Several changes in voting will take effect this year. The voting ID requirement will not take effect until 2016.
Wake County Board of Elections members are trying to find help to direct traffic around busy early voting sites.
Residents can register and vote at the same time during the early voting period, which ends Nov. 3.
