Attendees at last week’s Southwest CAC meeting received a detailed update on the city’s ongoing Southern Gateway Corridor Study.
With the Record on hiatus for the week, we decided to look back on our ten most popular articles of all time. Stories include a North Raleigh Party Mansion, a forgotten downtown creek and more!
As part of the Record’s continuing efforts to live up to the Public Record part of its name, we bring you the salary data of all full-time, permanent city employees.
Earlier this month, the Northwest CAC heard two rezoning cases from Stratford Land Developers, one for a retirement village and the other for an office building.
At a private meeting held earlier this week, a presentation was given by Raleigh Planning Director Ken Bowers titled “Oakwood, the UDO and You.” Here is that presentation.
The Society for the Preservation of Historic Oakwood held a members-only meeting Monday night to address concerns over zoning case Z-27-14, which will remap about 30 percent of the city. We talked to some of those who attended.

UDO Remapping – Planning and Development Department
In 2014 the City of Raleigh Planning and Development Department will bring forth for consideration a revised zoning map as part of the recently-adopted Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). Approximately one-third of the City’s jurisdiction is proposed to be remapped to new zoning districts to fully implement the UDO. Staff members from the Department are visiting CAC meetings to present an update and answer questions on the remapping process. Please join us at the upcoming CAC meeting to learn more about this
effort. For more information contact Carter Pettibone at carter.pettibone@raleighnc.gov or 919996-4643.
